In B.E.2520, SukhothaiProvince had renovated an ancient area known as Larndokmai (floral land) to organize its annual Loy Kratong Festival Fair. By chance officials discovered a secret Kru which contained many votive tablets and as such the amulets were named Pra Kru Larndokmai.
Although there are no clear records its generally assumed that the amulets were created by a high ranking individual because of the variety of pims.
The colour of the amulets vary quite significantly from dark brown, yellow, orange, dark red, green and black, etc. There are as many as 30 different types of pim, including the following:
1.Pim Sukhothai Nang, designed in Sukhothai classical style, Buddha Image sitting on lotuses and gesturing Maravichai or conquering evil, size 2 x 1.4 cm.
2.Pim Lila Turn (unclear lines), designed in Sukhothai classical style, Buddha Image gesturing Lila or gracefully stepping forwards, size 2.7 x 1.3 cm.
3.Pim Lila Luk (clear lines), designed in Sukhothai classical style, Buddha Image gesturing Lila or gracefully stepping forwards, size 3 x 1.2 cm. This Pim is more beautiful than Pim Lila Turn because all lines on the Buddha Images are keen and clear.
